Release notes
v2.20 School Rugby
CurrentSchools can now run rugby on Rugby Pulse
Schools sit alongside clubs as their own organisation type, with a dedicated school dashboard for squads, fixtures, training, availability, attendance, stats and player development.
- School organisation type alongside clubs, with school profile and school type
- Dedicated school dashboard in the older Rugby Pulse green
- School squads across any age group, plus fixtures, training and results
- Availability, attendance and simplified match stats for school squads
- Player development notes recorded by school staff, private to school staff
- School Admin and School Staff roles, separate from club and platform admin
- Players can belong to both a school and a club without the two mixing
- Safeguarding unchanged: player-only and adult-only spaces stay separate
- School Admin, School Coach and school organisations available in the Demo Studio
v2.19 Recognition Centre
Labels, rewards and ambassadors
Rugby Pulse can now recognise testers, creators, ambassadors, clubs, schools and partners with labels, rewards and a permanent recognition history.
- Super Admin → Recognition Centre: Labels, Rewards, Ambassadors and Recognition History
- Create, edit, disable and delete labels, with icon, category and display settings
- 27 starter labels across founding, testing, creators, clubs, schools and business
- Unlimited custom labels, assigned to as many people as you like
- Recognition badges on profiles, showing the first five and + X more
- Tap a badge to see what the recognition means
- Rewards linked to labels: badge, early access, premium, discount, feature, referral, event or custom
- Ambassador register with active, paused and ended status
- Permanent history of every label assigned or removed, with who did it and when
- Labels are recognition only and never grant any permission or access
v2.18 Demo Studio & AI Lab
AI-built demos and the AI match-tracking lab
Demos are now designed from a plain-English brief and feel like a real club, and Rugby Pulse has an internal AI Lab for teaching the match-tracking model rugby.
- Demo Studio: describe the demo you want and AI designs the club, squads, fixtures, stats and news
- Creator research from public information to tailor a demo before a meeting
- Every demo is randomised, so no two sessions look like the same organisation
- Switch perspective between Club Admin, Team Admin, Coach, Player, Parent and Journalist
- Change a live demo in plain English: add teams, players, results or news mid-conversation
- Presenter Mode for meetings, with a discreet preview label instead of demo badges
- AI Lab (Super Admin): rugby knowledge base, match footage, datasets, annotations, test runs, evaluation and versions
v2.17 Interactive Demo
The demo is now a hands-on sandbox
Demo visitors can switch roles and actually use Rugby Pulse — adding fixtures, planning training, marking attendance, logging stats, chatting and posting news, all in a throwaway fictional club.
- Role switcher: Club Admin, Team Admin, Coach, Player and Parent views
- Add and delete demo fixtures, record results and plan training sessions
- Mark attendance, add or remove squad players and log match stats
- Post demo chat messages and demo news articles
- Presenter mode hides demo banners for clean screen-shares
- One-tap reset restores the demo club; nothing ever touches live data
v2.16 Pricing & Referrals
New Premium pricing, annual billing and the Rugby Pulse referral system
Player Premium is now £2.99 a month or £24.99 a year, Club Premium is £19.99 a month, and referral codes can be issued, tracked and paid out on real subscription revenue.
- Player Premium: £2.99/month or £24.99/year with a monthly/annual toggle
- Club Premium: £19.99/month — the old £40 setup fee has been removed
- Club Pro (£39.99/month) is built in but stays hidden until a Super Admin enables it
- Plans & Billing page rebuilt: current plan, upgrade, cancel and billing information in one place
- Features still in development are clearly labelled Coming soon
- 30-day Club Premium free trial unchanged, with trial status, days remaining and end date shown
- Super Admins keep per-club Premium on/off control
- Referral codes: discount, commission, dates, usage limits and conversion event
- Have a referral code? entry on the subscription page, applied automatically at checkout
- Referrer dashboard: sign-ups, conversions, active customers, revenue and estimated commission
- Super Admin → Referrals: full attribution, commission statuses and audit trail
- Self-referral blocked, one referral per customer, no commission on cancelled or refunded payments
v2.15 Roles & Demo Management
Role-based navigation and Demo Management in the Admin Centre
Everyone now sees only the sections they are allowed to use, and Super Admins get a full Demo Management area inside the Admin Centre.
- Navigation is built from your actual roles — combined roles keep all of their sections
- Players and parents no longer see admin, club, team or journalist tools
- Team Management is limited to that team's coaches and team admins
- Club Management appears for admins of any club they run
- Journalist Centre appears only for approved journalists
- Restricted pages opened directly by link now show a clear Access denied screen
- Super Admin → Demo Management lists every demo code with description, type, created and expiry dates, maximum and current uses and status
- Demo actions: View, Edit, Disable, Enable, Regenerate, Extend and Delete
- Create Demo now covers demo name, type, age group, gender, position, fictional club, teams and a custom code
- Switch demo areas on or off: statistics, fixtures, training, attendance, milestones, news, premium, AI and chat
- Ready-made partnership demo code RP-TTL-DEMO for the Rugby TTL demo
- Demo visitors stay isolated: no admin tools, real users, clubs, chats, reports or payments
v2.14 Demo Mode
Secure Demo Mode and Super Admin demo code generator
Clubs, partners, journalists and investors can explore Rugby Pulse with a demo code — using fictional data that is completely isolated from real accounts.
- Try a Demo button on the sign-in screen — no email or password required
- Demo codes are required and are generated by Super Admin only
- Demo Mode shows a fictional club, teams, players, stats, fixtures, training, chat, news, milestones and Premium
- Demo AI answers using only the fictional demo data
- Demo banner on every demo screen: no real data or payments are connected
- Super Admin Demo Management: create, disable, regenerate, extend and delete codes
- Demo configuration for demo type, age group, gender, position, fictional club and teams
- Expiry options (none, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, custom) plus maximum-use limits
- Internal demo descriptions and usage tracking visible to Super Admin only
- Demo visitors are never signed in, so real users, clubs, chats, reports, subscriptions and payments stay out of reach
v2.13 News Tab & Navigation
News tab, navigation cleanup and Premium promotions
Rugby Pulse News is now a main tab, the app is organised into clear sections, and Premium promotions are tasteful and always dismissible.
- News is a main navigation tab: Home, News, Teams, Your Team, Profile
- Redesigned News homepage with Featured, Trending, Latest and category sections
- News search across headlines, article text, teams, competitions, categories and journalists
- Only published articles are ever shown — drafts, submitted and rejected stay hidden

- New Team Management hub for coaches and team admins
- Premium promotions with a close button, Maybe Later snoozing and one pop-up per session
- 30-day Club Premium trial promotion shown only to eligible club admins
- No upgrade prompts for Founder accounts or anyone already on the relevant plan
v2.12 Rugby Pulse News
News & Journalist system
Rugby Pulse now has a proper moderated newsroom: approved journalists write, editors review, and only approved articles go live.
- New Rugby Pulse News feed with search, category, competition and journalist filters
- Full article reader with byline, reading time, tags and journalist bio
- Journalist role with a public application form covering bio, interests, competitions, experience and portfolio

- Editorial workflow: draft, submitted, changes requested, rejected, approved, published, unpublished
- Super Admin journalist management: approve, request info, reject, suspend, block and reinstate
- Super Admin news review queue with full article preview, feedback notes and one-tap publish or unpublish
- Editorial audit log recording every journalist and article decision
- Journalists can never publish their own work — publication is enforced server-side and in the database
v2.11 Milestones
Milestones & Achievements
Every player now has an automatic milestones page, calculated from their real recorded match and training data.
- New Milestones & Achievements page with unlocked, in-progress and locked milestones
- Match, try, tackling, passing, kicking, conversion, training and attendance milestones
- Development milestones for ratings and coach feedback, with a meaningful improvement threshold
- Fun awards: Try Machine, Playmaker, Tackling Machine, Iron Man, Boot of the Team, Training Warrior, Commitment and Rugby Pulse Legend
- Age-group aware: tackling, kicking and conversion milestones are hidden where the ruleset does not use them
- Career and season totals kept separately — career milestones never reset
- Team and club achievements based on aggregate data only
- Milestone summary and latest three achievements on the Player Profile
- Milestones unlock automatically and are written server-side, so they cannot be faked or manually awarded
v2.10 Club Premium Trial
30-day Club Premium free trial
Every club can now try the complete Premium feature set free for 30 days — no payment details required.
- New Try Premium Free screen with the full Premium Club feature list

v2.6 Club Readiness
Clubs, teams & reporting fixes
A reliability release for clubs: proper club/team links, safer leaving, club admin invite codes and a working reporting flow.
- Reports now capture the club and team they relate to, and club admins can review reports for their own club
- Reporters stay private — nobody can see who reported them
- Joining a team automatically links you to that team's club with a matching role
- Existing team members were linked to their clubs, with no data removed
- A club's last admin, or a team's last manager, can no longer leave until a replacement is appointed
- New club admin invite codes with expiry, usage limits, revoking and an audit trail
- Redeem screen now accepts both team and club invite codes
- Club page shows club admins, coaches and every age group and team
- New super admin data integrity check for orphaned teams and missing club links
v2.5 Chat Membership
Auto-join & leave chats
Join a team and you're added automatically to every chat your role allows — and you can now leave any chat you don't want.
- Automatic membership: your team's Players or Adults chat is added as soon as you're in the squad
- Club chat added automatically for coaches, admins, parents and adult players
- Shared team chat joined automatically when an 18+ squad has it switched on
- Leave any chat straight from the chat list — you won't be re-added
- One tap to rejoin every team chat you've left
- Safeguarding rules unchanged: juniors and adults stay in separate chats
v2.4 Safeguarding
Chat & Safeguarding
Junior squads now keep players and adults in completely separate chats, with announcements bridging the two.
- Players Chat — players of the team only; coaches, team/club admins, super admins and parents have no access at all
- Adults Chat — coaches, team admins, club admins, super admins and approved parents; players can never see it
- No mixed junior chats: private and group conversations can no longer contain both a junior player and an adult
- Announcements stay read-only and visible to everyone, posted by coaches and admins only
- 18+ teams can switch on a shared team chat for the whole squad
- Every rule enforced in the database, so blocked chats stay blocked even via direct links
v2.3 Public Beta

- New Announcements channel per team, separate from Team Chat
- Only coaches, team admins, club admins and super admins can post, edit, pin or delete

- Author name, role badge, team name, date and time shown on every announcement
- Pinned announcements always stay at the top of the channel
- Attachments for images, PDFs, training plans and match information
- Notifications to all team members (and linked parents) when a new announcement is posted
